How to Volunteer   Student Resident Program

We're recruiting for Volunteer Firefighters to help provide emergency services to citizens
The Fire District provides emergency services to over 20,000 people including the cities of Independence & Monmouth and the communities of Airlie, Buena Vista and Pedee. The Fire District relies primarily on volunteers willing to donate their time to help neighbors in a time of emergency. Become a volunteer firefighter today!

Polk County Fire District No. 1 has maintained a long-standing commitment to work with local colleges and universities in providing work experience opportunities for students enrolled in a fire service or pre-hospital care curriculum. It is the District’s intent to aid the resident in developing the skills and acquire the knowledge necessary in a fire service career.
