VOLUNTEER BATTALION CHIEF RICK EVANS PROMOTED TO DIVISION CHIEF
September 2011

On Tuesday, September 20, 2011, during
the Polk County Fire District No.1 monthly
Board of Directors meeting, Volunteer
Battalion Chief Rick Evans will be formally
promoted to Division Chief of the Volunteer
Division by Fire Chief Jason Cane.

As the Division Chief of the Volunteer
Division, Rick will oversee and supervise
over 50 volunteer members of the Fire
District. Rick will also have several
command responsibilities during fire and
medical calls in the District. Having begun
his career in 1983 as a volunteer firefighter
for the Monmouth Fire Department, Rick
has worked himself up the ranks as a
firefighter/EMT; Fire Engineer; Captain; and Battalion Chief. In 1987, Rick received an Associate of Science Degree from Chemeketa Community College majoring in Fire Science.

In addition to his leadership positions with the Fire District, Rick has also served as President of the Polk No.1 Firefighters Association. Outside of his position with the Fire District, Rick is self-employed, married and has 3 children.
